- I did a poor job of trying to describe a cute moment with DaughterGeeding and someone took a shot at my parenting skills or the attention I give my children, which is probably fair because of the lack of context I provided and how I described the event. Lesson learned.
- I over-analyze handshakes.
- I caught the new CBS show “Intelligence”. It has potential, but the dialog and acting need some work. The main character and the character Root in ‘Person of Interest’ have some similarities.
- I think Diamond Shamrock was a better name than Valero.
- When it comes to eating a burger and fries, some folks eat all fries first and then the burger, others will eat the burger and then all fries, and then there are those that eat them while eating the burger. I fall into the latter category, but I don’t usually eat the fries separately, I like the combination of the two at once. I guess that’s the combin-Asian in me.
- With texts and emails basically commonplace as a communication means with my friends, I tend to fear bad news when they actually call.
- I’m not sure what is more frustrating, a person passion about their college or a person passion about their political beliefs.
- Sometimes I’ll catch a special about how to cook a meal in something like 15-minutes and I always yell bull-poo-poo at the screen because a lot of their stuff is already out of the package and cut/sliced which can take almost 15-minutes itself.
- There was a lot of news about Dennis Rodman yesterday and other than seeing the headlines I did all I could to avoid it.
- WifeGeeding needed new workout clothes so I bought her some yoga pants for Christmas. She’s been wearing them around the house a lot and now I that was the best purchase I made in 2013.
- I’ve never been thin, one day before I die, I want to know what that feels like, but not when I’m on my deathbed as a vegetable.
- I can’t stand the smell of fish or seafood so there’s basically a ban in GeedingManor of such things, that is, unless WifeGeeding is upset at me for doing something and then the house reeks of it.
- Not that this is new news, but it is an ugly side of college sports – CNN analysis: Some college athletes play like adults, read like 5th-graders
- Almost nothing makes me feel dumber than misspelling a word so bad that the spell check suggestions don’t list the correct word.
- I miss the times I watched ‘Jeopardy!’ with my dad, and of course football.
- I got into an interesting conversation with someone who asked me why did Jesus teach in parables and not just list rules, something my pastor recently preached about. I guess I could have just referenced Matthew 13:10-17 but I don’t know if that would really connect with someone not all that familiar with the Christian faith. So I basically said that was done in the Old Testament but not only did it not really connect with people but they basically found loopholes or misinterpreted them for their own benefit. I went on to say people connect emotionally with stories (parables) more than a list of rules, they are easier to remember, and you really can’t disagree with a story like you can with a rule. Of course what I just typed is an oversimplification bastardized version of my answer.
