- Jim Wright was interviewed by the local CBS affiliate yesterday about the expiration of the Wright Amendment and I was a bit surprised they only referred to him as former Congressman Jim Wright instead of former Speaker of the House Jim Wright, especially since he represented the area for about 34 years. Yet I am one of those that don’t think the title of Speaker should be carried over once his or her service is complete.
