- It’s always interesting when someone who is a part of my life tells me they found this blog. Fear runs through my mind, I immediately wonder how I may have offended or upset them.
- I received some good advice about this blog. It’s okay to be transparent, but I need to be mindful that my kids may read it.
- The handyman my property manager sends out to fix things in my rent house is one of the friendliest men I’ve ever met. He thinks my name is Walter. Actually, he only calls me “Mr. Walter.” I just don’t have the heart to correct him.
- There was a point in my life I wanted to go by “K. Walter.” You know, like H. Ross Perot, J. Edgar Hoover, F. Scott Fitzgerald, M. Night Shyamalan, F. Murray Abraham, and H. Norman Schwarzkopf. Buta a good friend started to make fun of me by calling me “kwalter,” as if the name started with a “qua” like “quail.” I feared that goofy-sounding name would stick, so I went back to my first name.
- It’s been twenty years since I lost my best friend (and my daughter’s namesake). Today is his birthday. Every year on this day I make sure a dozen yellow roses are sent to his mother. I hope it brings a smile to her face and warms her heart. I think I’ve done this every year since he died.
- A lot of foundation work was done on the house I’m renting. I thought it was interesting that the crew brings there own microwave.
