Bag of Randomness for Tuesday, May 30, 2023

  • Props to AMC for having a Band of Brothers marathon followed by a showing of Flag of Our Fathers for all of Memorial Day. Granted, I didn’t watch much of it, I need to watch that series. I’ve seen The Pacific and really enjoyed that.
  • It’s funny how our now former state AG, our top law enforcer, was complaining about the law not being fair as he was impeached. But, as LL stated, “The question remains: why now? He deserved to be impeached, but all of the allegations have been known for over two years.  Why, suddenly, did they go after him now?”
  • Trump is calling our governor out for being silent on the impeachment of our AG. I actually agree with the orange man.
  • Before the divorce, I did not know that child support payments do not go directly to mothers from their ex-husbands. Instead, the state takes the money, puts it in a fund, invests it, and then takes money from the fund to give to the mothers. So, twice a month, I send $800 to the Texas Attorney General for my money to go into an investment fund. Texas makes a lot of money off of divorced families, and that’s why there’s little done to keep marriages together, it’s all about money.
  • My kids continue to suffer from the trauma of how their mother broke apart our family. I know this because they open up to me about it periodically. They ask questions about her actions that I don’t have the answer to. So, I asked the ex if she would have a conversation about this. She told me I should stop dwelling on the past. Well, I think she does nothing but avoid acknowledging and owning up to her past options. Somewhere there is a compromise, but so far I can’t find it. What doesn’t help is that she only wants to communicate through email. So much can be lost in the written text, especially when emotion is involved. It’s best to just act like an adult and have a verbal conversation.

  • This video went viral quickly on Sunday. Rules are rules.

  • @DallasTexasTV is a great follow on Twitter, but I don’t like how they won’t allow their tweets to be embedded on websites like mine. Anywho, here’s a tweet of highlights of the Allen high school graduation ceremony complete with fireworks and a drone show.
