Eleven years ago I made my first post, which was nothing more than a test post, and today is approximately my 20,560th post. Who knows how much more I have in me.
Why do I blog? To be honest, I’m not sure anymore. My life, perceptions of things, and priorities have changed a lot in eleven years. I guess I like to connect with people, and maybe if I’m lucky, make someone’s day a little more pleasant than what it would have been. I guess like to expose people to things they may normally not be exposed to, or try to bring a different perspective to them. I guess I like sharing things I find interesting, or thing that I think you may find interesting. I guess I like to make people think. And I guess I like knowing that I can be a little escape from everyone’s workday for a few minutes, and knowing that some of the things I share are actually talked about at the dinner table or with loved ones.
Today is also my dearly departed mother’s birthday, she would have turned 63. As I’ve sometimes done in the past, I choose to make only one post, and ask all of you to honor her by finding a magazine or book to read. Mom was a voraciously proud reader, and I would appreciate it if you would use the time you normally would use checking out this blog and spend it reading as a favor to me.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to spend it with me.
Grace,
Geeding
Congrats on the anniversary and thanks for all you do to entertain this online community you've created. I've enjoyed getting to know you through your writing and our correspondence. Happy anniversary to you, happy birthday to your mom, and I'll read a short story in her honor today!
Happy 11th! And to the great day of remembrance and honor for you. Here's to mom and reading.
Congrats on all the blood, sweat and tears you've poured into this blog. I think your Mom would be proud that you have written so much and it has been read by so many.
Congrats and I hope for many more years. I appreciate your insight and humor, as i think it is similar to my taste 9as well as many others who follow you).
You are a great person and don't forget that. I did not know her, but given the kind-hearted and caring views you have of towards your family and others, I'm sure your mother would be proud.
Bless you brother.
You do a great job. Keep up the good work!
