I totally approve of brake checking.

Also effective: just take your foot off the gas and coast for a bit.

  3. RPM says:

Brake checker just fled from the scene of an accident.

    SUV instability is shocking !
Looks like a Chevy badge, not sure of the model – but that kind of poor top-heavy handling shouldn't happen on modern SUVs any longer. That was what the Ford Explorers used to do and it's way highway patrols couldn't depend on SUV's in the 1990's. But, this is a late modern vehicle that clearly over-corrected because the driver did not calculate for the momentum of that gas guzzler and no training.

He or she bottomed out, probably bent the frame, and took out a highway sign on the other side of the highway, which probably kept them out of on-coming traffic. This is a nightmare wreck that takes out entire families, almost every week in Texas alone!

More wire barriers would help contain this kind of bad driving.

This was a great video to show to my 15-yr-old daughter, who is driving on a permit and will get her license in a few months. It's a great example of what not to do, both on the part of the tailgater and the brake checker. Actions have consequences.
