Bag of Randomness for Wednesday, March 30, 2016

  • I listen to The Ticket while I work and I wish I could filter out all Reagor Dykes Auto Group and George DiGianni commercials.
  • I keep seeing stuff about the new Michael Keaton movie that will be released in August in which he plays Ray Kroc, the man that bought McDonalds and turned it into the behemoth it is today. A few random thoughts:
    • Keaton really has resurrected his career.
    • My favorite bit of trivia about Keaton is that his name is actually Michael Douglas, but some “other actor” already had that name as well as a big band singer. It’s my understanding he chose Keaton because of the influence of Buster Keaton.
    • Ray Kroc went to a school in Connecticut to learn how to drive ambulances, one of his classmates was Walt Disney. Imagine if that school did yearbooks, I wonder who would have been chosen as “Most Likely to Succeed”.
    • I think I found the PDF of the script.
  • Rolling Stone – Edge: U2 Have ’50 Ideas’ for Next Album
  • Burger King’s Fiery New Whopper Comes on a Red-Hot Bun – In a news release, the chain says “the Angriest Whopper” will consist of “flame-grilled beef, piled high with thick-cut bacon, American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, crispy onion petals, jalapeños, creamy mayonnaise and spicy angry sauce all layered between a fiery red bun that has hot sauced baked in.”
  • If you’ve ever wanted one of those Smokey and the Bandits cars, your time has come.
