  • DaughterGeeding (or as LiberallyLean would call her, the Kindergartner In The House) has a spelling test today. Typically, a spelling test at that age level wouldn’t be difficult, but she has to underline, double underline, and put numbers above and below certain parts of the words.

  • It was interesting listening to Gordon Keith of The TICKET express his feelings about cleaning out his parents belongings after their recent deaths. You have a tendency to go through everything because you might find a sentimental treasure. There are times when you just want to throw it all out, but then you also kind of hear their voices in the background saying this is OK but perhaps not that. I admit, I kept much more I should, and as the years go by, I find myself cleaning out a bit more, but some stuff I’m too hard-headed about letting go despite the lack of space or function of the item.
  • Yesterday’s Ripley’s Believe It or Not stated, “In 1986, a Florida jury became stuck in an Orange County elevator for 20 minutes on their way to hearing a case against the Otis Elevator Company.” Before I decided to believe it or not, I looked it up, and it really happened. And just for Ben, a Disney parks fan and lawyer, the case involved alt Disney World’s Contemporary Hotel.
  • Someone asked for a recommendation for escape room and I suggested the one my friends took me to for my birthday. Their website states they’ve moved and the reason – On 12/31/15 we met with the City of Dallas Planning and Zoning dept and we found out that they do not understand what an escape room business room is and they do not care to find out. Basically if you are trying to open or run an escape room business then you have 2 choices: 1 – Start up outside of Dallas County or 2 – Be subjected to outdated and incorrect classification and land use which will stifle growth in this growing industry and will cost a fortune to implement – So we chose to relocate our business outside Dallas county where we will be able to operate & yet be safe.

  1. RPM says:

I never had the opportunity to get any sentimental belongings of my parents. My step mother only offered me my father's old socks and I was never informed of my birth mother's death.

  2. Ben W. says:

There are some two-story escalators at the Contemporary. I'm thinking a fall on one of those would be rough. And as a lawyer for the defendant, you have to know it's not going to be your day when the jury gets stuck on one of your client's elevators. Ask for a 15-minute recess and settle that case.

  3. ALEC says:

My mother died two years ago. We have yet to step foot in her closet.
