A ninth-grader at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson was arrested Friday and charged with assaulting a teacher in a classroom.
The attack, captured on video, shows the teen slamming the 62-year-old educator to the floor in front of other students in an effort to get his cellphone back.
City school officials confirmed that criminal charges have been filed against the student, who has been suspended from school.

I’m on the fence when it comes to arming our teachers with firearms (voluntarily) but something like this is interesting fodder for both sides to discuss.
My wife was a teacher for 30 years; I'm in law enforcement. I deal with better behaved individuals.
I could not be paid enough to teach public school.
Expectations are different now. I'd be interested to hear ALEC's view, but it seems to me that any time I see a story where someone *did* jump in and help, they include a quote from some cop or administrator saying something along the lines of "just call for help and don't get involved."
