I wasn’t a follower of his music, but it wasn’t until yesterday that I learned Joe Crocker was British. I’m just going to chalk that one up to singers singing without an accent.
Somewhat related, I had no idea who Joe Jamail was until reading Barry’s blog and his hatred towards him over the years. I’d see the name while watching Longhorn games, but just thought it was some rich Middle Eastern oil guy that attended UT and used the American name Joe. Man, I was way off.
I saw a commercial in which the Leaning Tower of Pisa was the focus. That reminded me of one of the Christopher Reeves Superman movies where he turned bad and made the tower perpendicular with the ground, ticking off the souvenir salesman in the foreground who was selling models of the tower with a lean. Later in the movie, Superman turned good again and came back to the tower to put the lean back into the tower, once again upsetting the souvenir salesman who was now selling non-leaning models of the tower [YouTube].

With oil prices dropping, that’s going to hurt employment numbers in Texas, and I wonder if that’s going to have any effect on Gov Perry’s presidential ambitions.
