Question for you arm-chair Christian theologians, are the Jewish people still God’s chosen people, or are things different now because of their rejection of Jesus and the new covenant? I remember studying this topic in college and refreshed my memory this week by doing some research, but I was wondering what y’all might think. This means you Jonathan, Nathan, and Tim . . . and if you don’t comment here send me an email.
I haven’t seen any of those Expendables movies, but why they heck isn’t Carl Weathers cast in any of them?
Hank Azaria does many voices on ‘The Simpsons’, so I think it’s interesting that he’ll now provide the lead voice to Seth MacFarlane’s new animation comedy ‘Bordertown’. I also read that ‘The Simpsons’ will be killing off a major character, so I wonder if this is related – killing off one of Azaria’s characters would lessen his workload to help with this new venture.
Buzzfeed has a list of 18 pizza places you must try before you die. Surprisingly on that list is a local establishment, Fireside Pies, which I think is highly overrated. The first time I ate there I was underwhelmed, the second time I ate there I was even more underwhelmed.
The start of Cowboys training camp use to be a big deal for me, but I can’t decide if I’ve lost interest because I’m becoming older and a fuddy dud or if Jerry’s mismanagement of the organization has made me this way – or a bit of both.
DaughterGeeding has a great “can do” attitude. BoyGeeding has a terrible “can’t do” attitude.
It’s been a good eight days for us Weird Al fans. You can watch all the other videos here.
On your Jewish question, I think they are still God's chosen people, however they have failed in God's intentions for their mission. The scripture phrase, "the first shall be last and the last shall be first", I think applies to them. They received the Gospel "first" and their mission was to be righteous and take the Gospel to the rest of the world (Gentiles). Now, because of their failure, the Gospel has been given to the Gentiles and the Gentiles mission is to take it to the rest of the world including the Jews.
