  • Yesterday evening may have been the best weather in the history of Julys in Texas.
  • I caught some “Carson on TCM” last night.  Conan O’Brien does a brief introduction previewing an old Carson interview and that’s all it is, and it was great.  I forgot just how charming and how great an interviewer Carson was.  It also brought back a lot of memories of watching him with my father.
  • One of the interviews was with George Burns.  After watching the interview I wanted to see if he actually lived to be a hundred (he did) but was surprised to learn he was buried with $1,008.  I think it was to symbolize him having money to play cards, but I don’t know the significance of that amount.  I believe it was ten one hundred bills, a five, and three ones.
  • I wish there were much places in the area where you can buy pizza by the slice in DFW.  I can only name three in my area, Romeo’s Pizza off 3040 in Lewisville (lunch only), NY Pizza Pasta & Subs in Valley Ranch, and the Italian Cafe in Las Colinas (lunch only, I think).
  • In one of the latest ‘Consumer Reports’ they listed a number of cars that have a cruise control feature where it will notice the car in front of you and adjust if you are getting too close, thus, never having to take it off cruise control.  That’s a pretty cool feature.
  • I decided to give boxers a try, and I just have to go back to my boxer briefs.  Now I’m stuck with some boxers I don’t think I’d ever wear, and it just doesn’t feel right to return underwear back to the store.
  • While buying underwear, I came to the conclusion I totally don’t have the body type as the model on the packaging.  Funny thought, but wouldn’t it be crazy if the size of the underwear meant the cover model had to match the proportion.
  • Small World – A young girl at church saw my name tag and asked if I was related to SisterGeeding.  It turns out they lived in the same apartment complex in NYC.
  • I’ve been watching ‘Monk’ on Netflix and was quite surprised how during the middles of season three they replaced a major character, usually you’ll see something like that happen at the end or beginning of a season. Overall, I think my favorite character is Captain Leland Stottlemeyer.

  • I believe it when I see it – First-ever human head transplant is now possible, says neuroscientist
  • Has Rob Lowe had a face lift?  There’s something about his face that looks unnatural, but I’m not quite sure what.
  • Interesting pictures – protesters around the world pointing laser pens at police, buildings, and aircraft

  1. RPM says:

Carson on TCM was great. I had to hit rewind to double check and George Burns did drop 90% of an F Bomb in the Groucho story.

Rob Lowe's face looked odd in the Liberace movie, but I think it was just make up for the role of the plastic surgeon.

How long till we can have a head in a jar like Futurama?
