  • This is the time of the year we all care how our lawn looks because of the rain, and then in late August most of us will just give up.
  • The Berenstain Bears mother really should update her outfit.  I’m sure if you ask Papa Bear, there’s a reason why there’s not a third cub in the mix.
  • There have been a couple of good comments about what it’s like coming home and hearing your kids come to the door.  I have to admit, that’s one thing you don’t get to experience when you work from home.
  • Two minor complaints about my Chromebook – I can’t view Slingbox nor can I access my network hard drive.
  • Holly Williams of CBS News has a new hair style, but I don’t think it’s for the better.
  • Amy Matthews of the DYI Network has gone from blonde to a redhead, and also not for the better.

  • JC Penny sure did get a lot of free advertising with that Hitler tea pot, and now they are sold out of them.  The store will no longer allow you to buy it online, but you can still buy them at one of their locations.
  • Ever since last Sunday’s episode of ‘Mad Men’ there’s been a whole lot of talk about Megan Draper being compared to Sharon Tate and that she’s going to end up murdered.  Buzzfeed does the best of tying all the connections together, really well, actually.  But as we’ve seen before, ‘Mad Men’ likes to think we are on to something and then pulls the rug out from us.

  • Many generations from now people will look at the moon from outside their homes and see glowing cities.  That’s gonna be a beautiful sight.  I saw a rendering of what it would look like, basically just a full moon during sunset with bright specs of lights on it, like an image of Earth at night with city lights on, but I can no longer find it; however, it has since made my imagination gone wild.
  • Last week I finished my reading assignment from my pastor, Andy Stanley’s Deep and Wide.  If Stanley’s goal was to challenge me and create tension to engage me in the subject matter, he succeeded.  Sometimes I couldn’t decide if he was providing overly obvious suggestions, or if they were good reminders, and I often he felt like he came across as a the Christian version of Tony Robbins.  There were times that I liked what I read, and then there were times where it reminded me of why I ran away from the evangelical/Baptist church.  But I don’t think my pastor wanted us to read it and provide a review on Amazon, but  wanted us to challenge us as a church, create some constructive tension to engage our leadership team, and pull from it what we can to be better partners in ministry to spread the Good News.
  • For some reason I thought Michael Bloomberg has been mayor longer than Rick Perry has been governor, but Perry leads him by about a year.  Perry also signs his name by printing his first name, quite nicely I might add.  As for his last name, everything is  uppercase except for the “e” and the “y”.

Wow, some people are REALLY into Mad Men! I never caught the slip up Bob made about his Dad. I might lean toward the Don Draper/Dick Whitman's secret son theory now. Don's been doing a lot of reminiscing lately and we haven't seen a live relative since Anna died. Anna had a sister and we met her niece. Does Stephanie have a half-brother from Don 1?

The other theory about the prostitute that took Dick's virginity getting pregnant makes sense. There were certainly enough clues strewn about to connect those dots. The age would be about right, too.

Neil Diamond link points to FBI child porn. I hope that wasn't intentional.
