East Texas lawmaker suggests Asians adopt easier names to overcome voting problems

State Rep. Betty Brown, R-Terrell, is quoted in this Houston Chronicle saying:

“Rather than everyone here having to learn Chinese — I understand it’s a rather difficult language — do you think that it would behoove you and your citizens to adopt a name that we could deal with more readily here?”

“Can’t you see that this is something that would make it a lot easier for you and the people who are poll workers if you could adopt a name just for identification purposes that’s easier for Americans to deal with?”

I **REALLY** need to become a much more active voter. HOW do these folks make it into office!!??

Good point, Stefanie, that's exactly how delusional people like Brown get into office_____very few people actually vote. If a wingnut attaches his/herself to an extreme group that shows up in force for every election and votes as a bloc, then they will get into office and they will end up representing you and speaking for you.
