  • “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”
  • Profile in courage moment?
  • It’s a bit crazy me thinks that any sitting President of the United States has to learn about Supreme Court rulings like everyone else . . . television.  Well, at least that’s what Scott Pelley told me.
  • After taking an issue all the way to the Supreme Court and learning they did not rule in your favor, at what point do you decide to just move forward?

  • I never had much of an opinion of Savannah Gunthrie until yesterday.  I was very impressed with how she was able to interpret the ruling on such short notice and explain it in layman’s terms.  Here, I always thought she was just a young gal with pretty face only good for cooking segments.  Heck, I didn’t even realize she’s 40.
  • While at the car wash yesterday the owner came by and chatted with me.  He was wondering if I heard about how the Army was invading St Louis with tanks on the the street and how it was related to today’s ruling and then talked about how I needed to listen to some ultra-conservative new world order radio host in Austin.  A quick Google search lead me to some articles about how the Army is rolling tanks down residential streets for training.

While I despise equating the constitution and Scripture for a number of reasons (i.e. http://www.mcnaughtonart.com/artwork/view_zoom/35… I had the very same thought yesterday about interpretation. I think well-meaning people can read these documents from a variety of angles (Luke 10:26), and though some readings are better than others, it is not necessary or helpful to assign ulterior motives to anyone who interprets differently than myself.
