Bag of Randomness

  • In case you ever wondered which way the wind is blowing.
  • I gave my new battery powered mower a try yesterday.  The instruction book stated that it should be charged fully before the first use, but when I tested the indicator lights, it showed it was fully charged, so I gave it a go and test out the battery.  I didn’t realize it was also a self-propelled mower, so I made sure to utilize that feature to drain as much power as possible.  I was able to finish my whole yard, taking my time and using the self-propelled feature, with all four power indicator lights still on.  I was quite impressed.
  • The mower is quieter than my gas-powered mower, but it’s also heavier and hard to pull backwards.  I’m not sure if it’s heavier only because of the battery or the self-propelled mechanism.  As for the self-propelled feature, I found it a bit lacking, it was a kinda slow.
  • I’ve been a big fan of Dropbox over the years, and now it turns out that Bono and Edge are as well.  If you are interested in this great free product, try it here.
  • If you are a major Jordan fan, maybe a pair of his Converse basketball shoes should be a part of your collection.
  • For the first time since high school, I did not watch One Shining Moment.  Heck, I don’t think I really watched more then two minutes of last night’s game.
  • I have to admit when I hear people talk about the television show Game of Thrones, my first thought is about bathroom humor.
  • I haven’t laugh very hard in a long time until I saw the movie trailer for Ted which stars Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane, and Mila Kunis.  But word of caution, vulgar language and crude humor.
  • The local news mentioned the city of Dallas makes around $33 million during Texas/OU weekend.
  • About a quarter of the births at the hospital in my hometown are to teen-age mothers.  I think the total population of my hometown is around 17,000.
  • Something I missed last week from the Star Telegram’s Bud Kennedy: Texas has had ‘death panels’ since 1999
  • A crazy high-def picture of the human eye.
  • This Star Wars Sith lord looks a lot like Darth Vader without the mask.

Please update me on how many referrals you get and how big your space gets after this post about Dropbox.

The story about Texas' Death Panels was really surprising. Especially the governor's connection to them and his seeming lack of knowledge as to how they operate. I feel like something was left out of the story or they would be a much greater issue.

    I liked the wind chart!
