Family Tradition of Marrying on the Same Day

Wedding bells make a habit of ringing on the ninth day of the ninth month for the marrying Perchermeiers of Mount Healthy.

The tradition started 100 years ago. It continues today.

When the bells ring out tonight as Angelynn Perchermeier walks up the aisle of Price Hill’s St. William Church with her husband, Air Force Staff Sgt. Kyle Ray, she will be cerebrating their wedding day.

At the same time, in the same church, her grandparents will mark their golden wedding anniversary. Somewhere in heaven, her great-grandparents will note their 75th anniversary while her great-great-grandparents observe their 100th.

“There’s a lot of tradition and a lot of love in our family connected to Sept. 9,” Perchermeier said.
