Woman strangled to death go-karting

A woman was strangled to death yesterday after her Islamic head dress became tangled in a go-kart axle.

The 27-year-old woman was holidaying with family at the Port Stephen’s Go-Kart track on the NSW Central Coast when the freak accident occurred.

The Herald newspaper reports that the woman went into cardiac arrest after her hijab became caught at high speed and tightened around her neck.

Paramedics said the woman suffered severe neck injuries. She was flown to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later.

Being Australia, you would think there would be calls from nannyist public safety advocates to ban the hijab. But those are the same kind that kowtow to "multiculuralism," especially when it's violent and threatening.

I don't really understand the point of this article. Almost exactly 4 months ago an 18-year old blonde girl in the UK was killed when her SCARF got caught up in a go-kart. Did that make world headlines? Did people focus on this form of Western clothing that is so strange and scary? If you read this headline or article and thought anything but "Oh, how sad that an innocent young woman was killed in such a freakish manner," then think about examining your biases and prejudices. And stop allowing the sensationalist press to (mis)shape your world view.
