Tough to watch… we had to put our beagle down a few years ago… I held her as they gave her the shot and she sat there and looked into my eyes and was licking my hand… in one moment she was there with me and the next she was gone… the lights literally went out in her eyes and the tongue stopped in mid-lick. It tore me up, but I knew that she was in a lot of pain and there was nothing that the vet could do… that still didn't take away the pain of losing that dog. She was our first "child"
Oh god. That was tough to watch.
I did that with my first dog. I really cannot even imagine having to do it to my present beagle. I will be an absolute wreck.
What humans do in a century, they can do in a decade. They are beautiful things.
