I’m sad about this………..and also curious as to what kinds of stupidity was shown on other college campuses?! It seems B.U. gets “noted” for a lot of negative stuff.
It’s so nice to see how our “Christian” universities are preaching and teaching our young people to be “Christ-Like”. I just wondered if that act of selfless servitude was spurred by the thought of “What Would Jesus Do”?
As a seminary student at Baylor, I’m completely sad and embarrassed by what happened. Regardless of who you voted for, their is no excuse for hate…burning signs with the opponents name on it is completely missing the point of democracy. It goes in the same category as the poll released last week that 25% of Texans thought Obama was Muslim…so sad that we can’t open our ears and eyes to the truth.
The students who did this should be arrested and prosecuted. This was an act of terrorism. Letting this behavior go un-checked is an endorsement. Many decent people voted for McCain who do not behave this way.
as a student at baylor, i can attest that it is true 99 % of us are not racially biased, i have friends all over campus that are of different ethnic backgrounds and have different political views, heck my roommate is african american and we have a great friendship. While it is true these acts are not acceptable, i wonder how many people were burning mccain signs around the nation on college campuses, our media needs to learn to report stories that they don’t like (i.e. mccain signs burning) as well as the stories they love (i.e. anytime baylor or another christian university makes a mistake) i personally apologize as a baylor student to anyone that was hurt or offended by these acts, but i also encourage you not to just take everything you hear on the news, come check us out for yourself! you’ll find that we will give you a big texas welcome, no matter skin color
