  • This quote caught my attention, “Mrs. Palin needs to be reminded that Jesus Christ was a community organizer and Pontius Pilate was a governor.” Politico
  • I made a post about Palin back in April that is all of a sudden getting a lot of traffic.
  • Interesting dialog on yesterday’s Sarah Palin Facts post.
  • A friend at work was shocked when he found out I have never been to a strip club.
  • The divisiveness in this country worries me.  These United States sure don’t feel so united these days.  I’m afraid it’s going to lead to a breakup of this country in the next 200-300 years.
  • I’m sure my readers know where I stand politically, but sometimes I just want to go on a political rant, but I’m afraid that would only be adding to the problem.
  • But then again, I’m reminded of an old cartoon on a door back in college that said, “Democracy is the sound of opinions clashing.”
  • When I was in high school and college, I felt like I had all the answers and the confidence to back them up in regards to the Christian faith.  As I grew older, I started to question some areas that I blindly accepted in my youth, so I started a spiritual journey to find the answers to my questions.  Along the way, a lot of pastors spoke condescendingly to me about my search saying it was a lack of faith and that my relationship with Christ is not genuine.  To this day, I don’t feel comfortable talking to pastors, I think there are only two that I would feel comfortable with.  Well, maybe three, if you count George the Bible scholar, but then again, he’s also an Eagles fan.
  • I still haven’t found what I’m looking for, but I’m still searching.
  • It’s rare and hard for me to be open on this blog, that’s why the majority of time you will only see post of links that don’t offer my two cents.  I don’t take criticism well.
  • On “Meet the Teacher” night a parent left a witnessing tract behind for WifeGeeding.
  • I had to look up the term WASPy yesterday.
  • I often think of moving out of state just to experience a different America since I’ve lived all my life in West and North Texas.
  • I often hear the term “liberal media.”  Can the media be liberal if there’s such a thing as Fox News?
  • I miss my hometown but don’t think I can ever return to visit it again.
  • When I first started this blog I made all my posts starting at 5:30 AM.  Now I make most of my posts in the evening and schedule them to post the next morning.
  • Favorite lunches when I was in school:  salisbury steak, steak fingers, hamburger, chicken nuggets, stromboli.  I think I was the only kid that drank white milk, everyone else chose chocolate.
  • My video to be the next Southwest Airlines Blog-o-spondent came in 6th place and I will be interviewed on Friday.
  • I’ve never been a believer that the defending champs of any sports should be considered the favorites to win again.  Each year teams loses and gain players and personnel, so every team on every level becomes different from the previous year.  Since the champs are now a different team, I don’t see how they can still be stated as the favorites.
  • Usually the NFL Kickoff game has a big pregame production, but nothing this year.
  • I was surprised that the Giants didn’t run through a giant replica of a Super Bowl ring like the Colts did last year, which I thought was pretty darn cool.
  • Dos Equis commericals on TV or the radio crack me up, I can’t get enough of them.

    There is stromboli in MW?!?!?

    Conservative Media: FoxNews

Liberal Media: CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, etc…..

I tried to give CNN and FoxNews equal time on the conventions….but I just couldn’t. Fox is far right just like CNN/MSNBC is far left….but because I’m conservative, I just got to frustrated listening to CNN. Its quite humorous how both Fox and the others are biased….but you have to admit that Fox is outnumbered.

  3. Rev. Hart says:

Actually, FOXNews is the most watched news network, so to say it is “outnumbered” isn’t quite true. When one conservative network has the most viewership, then it is misleading to say that “the media” at large is liberal.

In any case, the Liberal Media argument is an old, stale claim from the republican thought world, conveniently used to explain so many things. The argument pre-dates even the Clinton years.

But again, the whole situation just feeds into the division that Keith pointed out above.

My suggestion is this: If our information sources really are so biased, then let’s all turn off our television sets and just read the two candidates’ policy papers, and decided for ourselves which we most agree with.

I’m conservative and I can’t stand fox. To me it’s like comparing an established newspaper with a tabloid. CNN (even with a slight liberal slant) is better

    1) Recent elections may seem nastier because there are more news channels than ever before and these have begot more political analysts, strategists, spokespersons and pundits. It’s these people, as much as the candidates, that make the campaigns seem so angry. Everything gets repeated over and over on a dozen different stations, all day long
    2) I try to get my political news from The Daily Show and Colbert because they have been great at locating and finding tape of many of the candidates and/or their mouthpieces making conflicting statements depending on who their audience is. Pundits can opine all they want but when Jon Stewart can play a tape of a politician or his spokesperson taking two different positions a few months apart, it’s a very convincing example of saying whatever it takes to win. He really holds them accountable.
    3) I watched Mike Huckabee speak yesterday. He always seems to be a genuinely nice person. It does seem, however, that he has put back on a lot of the weight he became famous for losing.
    4) Speaking of not repeating a championship, Sports Illustrated picks the Giants to come in third behind the Eagles and Cowboys in the East.
    5) Good luck on the interview

Is Fox News watched more that CNN, MSNBC, Broadcast Networks, etc added together? I think that is the point. Sure, Fox News is #1 (which actually surprised me…most people I know hate Fox News), but not bigger than #2-#5 added together….in my opinion that is where the bias comes in.

    1) Regardless, from reading previous posts Rev. Hart has his views, and will say what needs to be said to defend them, just as I have my views and I will say what needs to be said to defend mine (not just on cable news networks, but on a broad array of issues). That is what political discussions are about. Its gets heated because it hits close to home. I am passionate about my beliefs and feel like I’m right. I would bet that Rev. Hart feels the same, and there is no wrong in that. Hats off to Rev. Hart for standing up. I just think differently. It comes down to a fundamental difference of beliefs.

It is a wonderful place in which we live that we have the right to pick what cable news network we watch, and to be able to vocalize our opinions without fear. I love my country, and am quite proud of it.

    3) I thought the same about Huckabee. I wonder if he and Romney ever said a word to each other at the RNC….

    2) Bob Sturm of the ticket picked the Cowboys to win the SuperBowl. I have a lot of respect for Sports Sturm and his prognostications. I hope he’s right!!! GO COWBOYS!!!!

I read a lot of politics websites and I mean A LOT. I read both liberal and conservative and I find it funny that both constantly say this.

“The main stream media will never cover this story because it is so liberal/conservative.”

They even have a shorthand for it – MSM is main stream media. It took me a while to figure that out.

standing up for the radical center!
