BOSTON – In a test of Harvard‘s famed open-mindedness, the university has banned men from one of its gyms for a few hours a week to accommodate Muslim women who say it offends their sense of modesty to exercise in front of the opposite sex.
The policy is already unpopular with many on campus, including some women who consider it sexist.
Oh for crying out loud… They’d NEVER do this for Catholic or Orthodox Jewish women. Are Muslims some kind of mutant offspring of man we can’t treat them no differently than we treat everyone else already? The mass market world is co-ed here in the USA. If you don’t like it, there’s always private clubs you can make for like minded people.
Actually, it is that very thinking that Muslims are a different breed of mankind that is the issue. The Political Correctness idiocy is so out of control that there’s an almost 13th century backwards thinking inherent to it. Rather than hold on to equal treatment as an ideal, we treat it as though that is an alien concept. Like having dogs and cats fed the same way. Muslims are FELLOW HUMANS who can make a choice to either follow their practices and not those of mass society, compromise between, or abandon their ways for those of mass society entirely.
Everyone else already makes that choice every day in their lives. How much to compromise between personal beliefs and principles and the leveling sameness of mass society.
