It appears that Obama’s campaign is fighting those nasty rumors that he’s a radical Muslim who was sworn in on the Koran and refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance.
It concerns me that candidates now have to wear his or her faith on his or her sleeve. But in Obama’s case, what’s he to do with false allegations regarding his name and heritage and a society concerned about the Muslim faith and its link to terrorism in this post 9/11 world.Â
I just sent you info per email with many links to WCCO.COM/RealityCheck/. Interesting reading of the truth.

I’m always concerned when people don’t “wear their faith on their sleave”. If it’s changed you enough to be worth following, how can you hold it in?

That email, actually, doesn’t surprise me. It saddens me, but I’m not surprised. Some people are so filled with fear, so stricken with self-imposed ignorance, that they somehow feel a little bit better by making stuff up that fuels their fear.
I’m in the middle of reading Barack Obama’s book, and I have to say, I really, really like this guy. I don’t agree with 100% of his policy ideas, but I admire the way he views them–and the world. When I read the pages, I find myself thinking, “man, if he doesn’t get nominated, then people just don’t understand him.” He’s a very inspiring man!
In my opinion, the president’s #1 responsibility is to build a team of people who will keep the economy strong, for everyone. Whether he or Ms. Clinton can do that best, I can’t quite say yet. But I’ll be voting for one of them here in NY on February 5!
Grace and peace,
