Nuns hoping to cash in on Super Bowl XLII

It has everything you’d find at a four star hotel.Big screen TVs, wireless internet, and a continental breakfast. But while it may look like a Marriott, it’s actually a monastery, home to the Benedictine Sisters of Phoenix.

“I kept hearing about people on the west side renting their homes,” said Sister Linda Campbell. “I thought, wow, why can’t the monastery be a part of that?”

On February 3rd, the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale will play host to Super Bowl XLII.

That week, owners have put their homes up for rent, in some cases fetching thousands of dollars.

So sister Linda Campbell and her fellow nuns came up with an idea to combine faith and football.

“We have ten rooms we use for retreats,” said Campbell. “We thought we could rent it out for 250 a night per room.”

And for 250 a night, Super Bowl guests will find a supped up monastery.

The sisters added satellite TV and high speed internet to make their Catholic home a little more contemporary.

In addition to all the amenities at the monastery, the fact you’ll be staying on holy ground, probably won’t hurt your team’s chances either.
