There’s A New Ikea in Boston

And the news has a 30 minute special on it which happens to be pretty entertaining.

In one upcoming segment the reporter buys a table and tries to assemble it.  The suspense is killing me.  She looks old, rich, and privileged – I don’t think she will be able to do it.

There are plans to build a second one in the area rather soon, and they just mentioned that the Ikeas in the area will offer delivery.  I don’t think the one in Frisco does that.

Update:  It took her a while just to write down the item numbers and actually find it down stairs.  Turns out I was right, she couldn’t assemble it.  She had to hop on Craig’s List and find someone to put it together for her.  I would have thought the Ikea assembler dude would have been a college student, but it’s some old man.

This IKEA is about a 10-minute drive from me, but I’ve never crossed the threshhold. I am so old, rich and privileged that I didn’t have the patience to keep hunting for a parking place there.
