LED ZEPPELIN
The story goes that The Who’s drummer, Keith Moon told Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones that their new project would go over like a lead balloon, hence, Led Zeppelin. The ‘Led’ spelling was to make sure people pronounced the name right.

VILLAGE PEOPLE
As all of the group members had been recruited from Greenwich Village, their manager, Jacques Morali, decided to call them “The Village People”.
