Update on Eric

For those of you who do not know Eric, he is a Captain in the U.S. Army. He is a Christian and is married to Heather. We met when we were in college at Hardin-Simmons University. Eric has been stationed in Iraq and has been sending emails to a group of his friends keeping us up to date on his daily happenings. On 1 Aug 05, he was injured by a car bomb. Though banged up, he is recovering back home in the Washington. Here is his latest communication:

Well…some of you were interested in what experience I had to endure on 1AUG. Here are two pictures, one of me moments afterward and one of my stryker. The one of me is kind of bloody, but not too gruesome, ..but it is my pretty face. The other is my stryker…and what is left.

These pictures were taken by the Army Times photographer we just so happen to have with us that day. I just got these today from my buddy Jim Dunn as he just arrived home today on early flight out.

Sorry, if you would have rather not seen these and I sent them to you. I tried to be very particular in who I sent these to. Trust me, I don’t want my face like this posted on some stupid website.

God Bless,
Eric

Thanks for keeping us updated on his life. It has really meant a lot to me. Glad you moved from LJ to your own page. What a great name for a website!

he may have not appreaciated it then, but it sure is cool that a photographer from the Army Times was there to document that part of his life.
