Bag of Randomness

  • Since WifeGeeding was prescribed bedrest due to high blood pressure and had a follow up doctor appointment the following morning, I tried to play the role of a good husband and drive her to the appointment missing my morning at work.  Unfortunately her blood pressure was still high and I had to take her to the hospital and check her in to Labor and Delivery.  We didn’t knew if we were going to be there for a few hours or a few days.  If the blood pressure was bad enough, they were going to have to induce labor, luckily it went down significantly while she was there and we got to go home after three or four hours, but she’s still on bedrest.
  • I still fear WifeGeeding goes into labor during the series finally of LOST.
  • While walking into the hospital I spotted this odd looking vehicle:
  • While leaving the hospital I spotting this interesting vehicle:
  • I’m a little tired of those Ford commercials where people have their cars swapped and the fall in love with the Ford.  I mean, come on, if some gave me a new car with the latest features of course I would prefer the new car over my old car.
  • I like Mike Rowe, I think he’s as good spokesman for Ford, but can we get some more of Jill Wagner?
  • Make a stamp out of your baby’s foot and hand prints
  • If you own season tickets, this might help you make some money
  • N.J. woman recognizes U.S. Census worker from sex-offender registry
  • Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg are going to be NYC cops in a new CBS series, I think I’m looking forward to that.
  • Glenn Beck & Jerry Falwell Jr. unite against ’social justice’
  • What I’m not looking forward to is moving Survivor to Wednesdays and The Big Bang Theory to Thursdays.
  • I always thought it was weird that when it comes to the county tax assessor-collector, that when you pay and receive mail from them it’s almost like you are dealing with a single person and that it’s some kind of scam.  I would think instead of a person, you would be dealing, or at least feel like you are dealing with an actual office.  I hope that makes sense.
  • One thing I don’t like about texts . . . sometimes I can’t tell if they are just sent to me or a group.
  • Hey Peggy, a special someone is waiting for Micah to be delivered and come home.

I've always thought it odd that I am making out county property tax checks payable to an individual. I live in Collin County but it must be occuring in other counties also. I presume it's an angle designed to help keep tax assessors in office by developing voter familiarity with their names. I'm sure more people know the names of their assessor from writing the checks than they do with their state rep or senator.

It's remarkable that the NJ woman looked at an online sex offender registery and remembered the census worker's face from the thousands of pictures in the registry. It's not very reassuring that he had failed the fingerprint check and was still able to go out in the field and question people about who lived in their homes. Especially, given the fact that, in addition to being a sex offender, he had also been charged with burglary.

I happen to live across the street from the actual county tax assessor-collector for my county. That seems weird to me, but she just a regular person.

*I had no ideal Survivor is moving to Wednesdays. I don't like this because I watch Law & Order SVU which was moved from Tuesdays to Wedsdays. Now I will have two appt tv shows on Wednesdays.
*I have never seen a television program with Tom Selleck. I know what shows he played in just never seen any of them.
    * Does Micah have a middle name yet?
    * One of our local femal newscasters is named Micah Materre and once she said on the news that she saw a license plate with "Micah" on it and was surprised because she has never met anyone else with her name.

Keith, sorry to hear that WG is on bedrest!!! Thay stinks! I was on bedrest at the hospital for 8 weeks, but now have a beautiful 6 week old daughter. Some of the things that helped me pass the time were creating a blog for the baby where I wrote letters to her about how excited we were to meet her; organized all our digital photos and made scrapbooks for different events in our life; learned how to knit; got a netflix subscription and watched all the movies and tv episodes I missed; read a LOT of books, and started an online cookbook with all my favorite recipes. It gets really boring on bedrest, so I hope WG can keep her spirits up and finds things to help pass the time. Micah will be here before you know it!
