Pervert dad and son’s reunion behind bars

KILLER pervert David Norris grew up without knowing his runaway dad. But when they finally met in a bizarre prison reunion, he found out that they had a lot in common.

Both men have a sickening history of sexual violence. And thanks to an astonishing twist of fate, they now share the same address – C Hall in Scotland’s prison for perverts.

Norris’s father, David Gillies, 39, is serving life in Peterhead jail for abducting a young woman and torturing her for 18 hours.

And his lookalike son is in the cell directly below him after attempting to rape an eight-year-old girl and beating a man to death for taunting him about his crime.

Until the prison system brought them together, neither man had any idea about the other’s horrific record.

I’ve moved into 4th

But the person in front of me in 3rd place posted her video yesterday and others are accusing her of cheating.  She says she’s only posted about her entry on her blog that gets a lot of traffic and that’s why she’s gotten so many votes so quickly – I tend to believe her and to be honest, I’m a little jealous.  I average about 1800 to 2000 unique visitors a day, but maybe only a handful of that number are dedicated readers and of that handful only a few decide to take the time to vote.

If you really want to read some drama, check out the comments on the 2nd and 3rd place entries.  One of the comments even accuses me of cheating because I’ve moved up so quickly..

Court: Conversations with pastors not always privileged

A conversation with a religious leader is not protected from being revealed in court unless it occurred in private and the leader was acting as a spiritual adviser, a New Jersey appeals court ruled Wednesday.

A unanimous three-judge panel of the New Jersey Appellate Division ruled that a pastor’s testimony should be allowed at a trial in which a father is facing charges of sexually molesting his two daughters.

While the conversation occurred in private, the pastor did not offer to keep it confidential. Nor did he purport to be acting in the role of a spiritual adviser, and he explicitly refused to counsel the man.

Texas Woman ‘Too Fat For Jail’

A woman is accused of killing her two-year-old nephew but prosecutors in Texas do not yet know how to get her to jail and court – because she weighs nearly half a ton.

Mayra Lizbeth Rosales, from La Jola, Texas, is bedridden and weighs nearly 1,000lbs.

But she cannot get through her front door to be taken to jail and, later, court.

A grand jury has already agreed she should face charges of murder and injury in connection with the death of Eliseo Gonzalez Jr.

Southern Baptists lead get-out-the-vote prayer

Southern Baptists are organizing a nationwide prayer campaign to accompany their values-voter registration drive, seeking spiritual renewal for families and churches, and God’s favor for public officials who are guided by the Bible.

The 40/40 Prayer Vigil for Spiritual Revival and National Renewal will run from Sept. 24 through Nov. 2, two days before the general election.

The daily prayers include requests for God’s guidance in voting, for the election of more “godly Christians,” for God to “help churches find ways to help Christians get to the polls” and for public officials to be protected “from the attacks of Satan.”

The effort is a companion program to the iVoteValues registration campaign, which began in 2004 and is jointly led this year by Southern Baptists, the largest Protestant group in the country, and the Family Research Council, a conservative Washington-based advocacy group.

Disgraced Australian Pastor

THE father of disgraced pastor Michael Guglielmucci has revealed his son has been addicted to pornography since the age of 12.

Danny Guglielmucci – whose high-profile preacher son last week week admitted his two-year battle with cancer was fake – said the “severe addiction to pornography” was part of a bizarre double life his son had been leading.

Mr Guglielmucci, who established Edge Church International, an Assemblies of God church in Adelaide, said Melbourne-based Michael had made a full confession to his family about his past, including revelations about the 16-year porn obsession and the lies over his supposed battle with terminal illness.

Holy cow! Cattle possess magnetic compass: study

WASHINGTON (AFP) — European scientists who studied satellite images of cows and deer around the world have discovered that these animals tend to align themselves with Earth’s north-south magnetic fields while they graze or rest.

While birds, turtles and salmon are known to use magnetic guidance to migrate, cattle were not previously known to possess an inner compass.

Farmers have found that cattle stand perpendicular to the sun to heat up their bodies on cold, sunny days, or stand parallel to the wind during winter days with particularly strong winds, the scientists noted.

But the farmers’ wisdom and scientific studies had not provided answers to the common alignment of cattle during days with optimal weather, the European scientists said.

“Amazingly, this ubiquitous phenomenon does not seem to have been noticed by herdsmen, ranchers, or hunters,” said the study, co-written by Sabine Begall of Germany’s University of Duisburg-Essen.

Bag of Randomness

  • With the start of school, I was struck with some of the greatest moments I had with my father.  He use to drive me to school every morning on his way to work.  It was just father and son each morning enjoying each others company with talk radio in the background.
  • I can also remember my first day of kindergarten and being so excited to go because it meant I was growing up.  But I also remember my mother crying for the same reason, but at the time I didn’t understand why she was crying, I was just wondering, “what are they not telling me . . .”
  • CNN has a goofy and useless sound meter they use when covering the Democratic Convention.
  • The other night I stayed up to watch the mens USA Basketball team play the gold medal game which started at 1:30 AM.  DogGeeding just couldn’t understand why I was staying up so late and tried to get me to go to bed.  At times he would just stare at me and then pace back and forth from the living room to the bedroom.  A few times he would jump in my lap and then start scratching at my chest as if to get my attention and tell me I’m totally messing up his schedule.  He later went to the bedroom, but came back 15 minutes later only to stare and sit in front of me and let out a sigh/bark and then went right back to bed.
  • Jason’s Deli’s salsa is surprisingly good.  And that last sentence just looks weird having two consecutive  possessive nouns.
  • Bono actually posted a comment on RollingStone.com and I’ve been invited to a U2 Academic Conference in NYC.  If only I were a permanent employee of this great airline that I’m contracting for I would certainly go.
  • I made a post yesterday about hotels and casinos that Vegas never built and displayed a picture of a Titanic hotel and casino concept.  I used that picture because I thought having a Titanic hotel was just a dumb idea; however,  Jonathan was nice enough to post a comment that there is one similar in Branson.  Here’s a link to a Flickr set of the hotel in Branson, and here’s their website.  You can even get married on their grand staircase.
  • For the first time in my life I actually have close friends that share the same political views as myself.
  • When gas was closer to $4 a gallon I noticed that most of the drivers on my commute were pretty friendly.  Now that it’s gotten a bit closer to $3 a gallon, I’m starting to see a lot more aggression on the highway.
  • For a 51 year old, Katie Couric doesn’t look bad at the beach.
  • My memory is a little foggy, but I think I recall watching the conventions as a kid and the major networks aired them for more than just an hour like they do today.

Random Facts about DFW Airport

• It’s the world’s third-busiest airport in terms of takeoffs and landings. It’s the world’s sixth-busiest if you’re counting passengers.

• The airport covers 29.8 square miles. That’s bigger than the island of Manhattan, which is just shy of 23 square miles.

• It has seven runways, plus room for an eighth. It can land four airplanes at once, something no other airport can do.

• And it’s served by 21 airlines that can take you to 173 destinations.

• Vendors are allowed to charge a maximum of 10 percent more than similar items cost outside the airport. The add-on compensates for the higher costs of airport operations.
