- I ran some errands with BoyGeeding yesterday and was asked his age two different times in two different places as he was just being his goofy self. The first time I totally forgot and just made up an age. That’s embarrassing and makes me feel like I’m coming up short as a father.
- I caught HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ last night. All teams have some sort of sponsor patch on their practice jerseys, Dallas has AT&T. But it seemed a bit budget to see the Falcons have Kings Hawaiian bread as their sponsor. Coca-Cola is based in Atlanta, they should be the sponsor. But don’t get me wrong, I love that bread, and it’s the bread we use at our church for communion.

- We should start seeing local news reports about football two-a-days and keep kids hydrated, as well as band members.
- The British newspaper, The Guardian, takes on Dallas’ addiction to cars – Can Dallas kick its addiction to cars?. We’ve been lucky it’s been a mild summer, but I’d hate to have to walk far wearing long sleeves or a suit.
- The San Antonio Spurs now have a woman as an assistant coach. I don’t know much about her other than she’s retiring from the WNBA team in San Antonio, but I’m sure there’s more qualified women for the position, such as Nancy Lieberman or college coaches. So this is a case of being at the right place, at the right time, and it’s not necessarily what you know, but who you know.
- Here’s Sports Illustrated’s list of the top 50 fittest athletes. Only one Dallas athlete made the list, Dez Bryant at number five. I think two Niners are on the list.
