  • The main reason I have a beard is that I think it covers up my double chin.
  • HBO ‘Hard Knocks’ thoughts:
    • That’s one heck of shot to the family jewels if one swells to four times the normal size and you have to go to the hospital.
    • It’s interesting seeing Brian Cox as a coach after being a bit of a controversial player.
  • I’m not a fan of this current trend of wearing crazy and colorful socks, especially with dress clothes.
  • Jimmy Fallon seems like the happiest person in America.  He did a heck of a Robin Williams impression last night and had a ‘House of Cards’ skit with a surprise guest that I thought was pretty clever.  I don’t want to give any of it away, but the skit should be available on his YouTube channel.
  • The new Toyota Sienna will make it easier to yell at your kids, “The available Driver Easy Speak feature uses the vehicle’s built-in microphone to amplify the driver’s voice through the rear speakers so parents don’t have to shout to passengers in the back.”
  • Lauren Bacall’s last credit in IMDB is for ‘Family Guy’ voice work.
  • A quote I heard in church: “We don’t love our neighbors so they will know Jesus; we love our neighbors because we already love Jesus and trust him.” – Jay Pathak
  • “You’ll have bad times, but it’ll always wake you up to the good stuff you weren’t paying attention to.” – Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting

  • I’ve been in the doldrums for the last ten days or so.  Unfortunately it’s starting to show as four-year-old DaughterGeeding grabbed my hand and said, “Daddy, you like kinda sad or maybe kinda mad.  What’s wrong, is there something I can do?”  I think a lot of it has to deal with this week being my late mother’s birthday and I’m just kind of reminiscing about things.  Now that I think about it, the first two weeks of August contains the birthdays of both of my late parents and my late best friend.
  • The problem with depression is that the more depressed you are, the more you feel like your problems are pathetic and not worth anybody’s time.  The times when you are capable of asking for help, you’re at your least worst, and so you feel like you’re exaggerating or attention seeking. – Source (Reddit)
