  • Yesterday “Bag of Randomness” didn’t post when it was suppose to, and the same thing happened to LiberallyLean’s “Random Morning Thoughts”.  Weird.  Actually, this is the second time within a week that’s happened to me.
  • All the local news stations focused on that big rig dangling off a bridge.  KTVT reported the rescue effort was done by McIntyire Wrecker Service in Mesquite.  I’d like to know how much they charged for such a massive and dangerous operation, and who gives them the initial payment – TXDot, City of Dallas, truck owner, insurance?
  • Tonight’s ‘Modern Family’ will be worth watching just to see how the are able to pull off an entire show using FaceTime.  Funny thing about that show, one of the co-creators is Christopher Lloyd, who I thought was the one from ‘Taxi’ and Back to the Future.  But the show creator is a different Christopher Lloyd.
  • More shakeup at ‘The Daily Show’ – Jason Jones is leaving as well, but his wife, Samantha Bee, will be staying put.
  • I’d like to know who’s on Comedy Central’s short list to replace Jon Stewart on ‘The Daily Show’.  Here’s my short list of people I think would realistically do it, in no particular order – Amy Poehler, Steve Carrell, Ed Helms, and Neil Patrick Harris.
  • Interesting tidbit I found on Reddit – “99 Bottle Of Beer” ends with “No more bottles of beer on the wall, no more bottles of beer. You go to the store and buy some more, 99 bottles of beer on the wall”‏
  • Stan Lee sketched a picture of Spider-Man for a young autistic boy.
  • The all-female Ghostbusters reboot will have a ‘Walking Dead’ influence.

  • Are McDonald’s Shamrock Shakes a thing in Texas?  This time of year I hear people from other areas in the U.S. mention them but I don’t ever recall seeing such a thing sold in Texas, and I use to eat at McDonald’s a lot.

  • When Dale Hansen does his Unplugged segments, it’s probably the closest thing to an Aaron Sorkin character we’ll see in real life, complete with his flaws.  His latest over the Flower Mound White Power signs seems to be quite a talking point on local message boards.
  • Waffle House becomes an unlikely competitor to FedEx and UPS – Restaurant chain partners with Roadie, a startup described as the ‘Uber for package delivery’
  • Today’s dose of ‘MURICA!
  • GIF – Someone’s reeling in a big tuna and a shark takes the tuna.
  • GIF – An Atlantic Goliath Grouper eats a shark as it’s being reeled in.
  • Friday at 5 p.m. on ESPN during Sportscenter, a short film on the local and legendary Von Erich wrestling family will air.
  • Meanwhile in Germany (it was built but never put to use) – Nuclear Power Plant Site Turned Amusement Park – The swing ride and climbing wall inside the cooling tower seems cool.
  • I thought it was pretty clever how the climax of ‘Marvel’s Agent Carter’s’ finale mirrored the ending of Captain America: The First Avenger with Peggy talking on the radio to a endangered colleague flying an aircraft.
  • The series finale of ‘Parks and Recreation’ was a lot more artsy than I would have expected.
  • In honor of ‘Parks and Recreation’ going off the air – Ron Swanson’s Pyramid of Greatness
  • Surprised this wasn’t already a thing – Canadian ‘freezeway’ could let residents skate to work

  • The kids wanted to watch a Superman and Batman cartoon so I pulled up a Justice League cartoon on HBOGo and was surprised at how dark it was.  Bane dug up Bruce Wayne’s parents and stole their bodies which of course ticked-off Bruce Wayne.  After Bane fought Wayne and knocked him out, Wayne woke up buried inside his father’s coffin with his decomposed father, and they showed the decomposed corpse.
  • Speaking of disturbing Batman stuff, last night’s ‘Gotham’ had some very gross and disturbing content, probably the worst I’ve seen on network television.
  • Helen Mirren was on Letterman last night and convinced him to do the interview by having him sit in the empty guest chair next to her, and it was delightful.
  • Kansas head coach tricked his basketball manager, a student, into taking a physical so he could actually suit him up and put him in a game.
  • This whole mysterious Dez Bryant video that has yet to surface and supposedly will have a “Ray Rice-type of an impact” lead me to a conspiracy theory.   The keeper of the tape doesn’t like the Cowboys and wants them to first sign Dez before releasing the video.  He’s hoping the Cowboys will have to commit the money and after the tape release, Dez will be suspended and the Cowboys are screwed with their roster and salary cap.
  • Gus Fring from ‘Breaking Bad’ was in Trading Spaces?  Yup, per his IMDB page he’s listed as Cellmate #2.
