Colorblind People See In Full Color For The First Time

Nearly 300 million people experience the world without color every day. ‘Color For the Colorblind’ is a short documentary about what happened when we partnered with EnChroma to help people experience color for the first time. We believe in #ColorforAll.

Bag of Randomness

  • After DaughterGeeding got home from school, she lugged one of my empty five-gallon paint buckets up stairs and asked if she could use it for a zipline.  I had no idea she even knew what one was, but I told her before she uses it to come get me first.  That little girl tied her jump rope around one end of the outdoor playset to the another, and then taped several coat hangers to the paint bucket handle and hung it on the rope.  Of course it wouldn’t hold her weight, but I was impressed, and I liked her idea of wanting to try something lighter like her brother or OtherDogGeeding.
  • There’s a new tea store in the area and when one of WifeGeeding’s friends visited it, she and the owner had one of those moments where they instantly knew each other but couldn’t quite place how.  It turns out the owner was her third-grade teacher.
  • At a Rangers game last year I had their Bacon on a Stick.  It wasn’t the run of the mill bacon that you’d warm up in the microwave, but it was thick, crispy, and had some sweetness to it.  I only mention that because the Rangers have released new menu of food items for the upcoming season and it’s bacon intensive – candied bacon coated with a layer of cinnamon and chili powder, bacon lollipop, bacon sunflower seeds (coated with “zero fat, no calorie bacon salt”), bacon cotton candy, and the one thing I really want to try . . . chicken-fried bacon.  Thankfully it comes with a side of gravy, and that reminds of of the time I saw something in college put brown gravy on a chicken-fried steak.  **shudder**

Woman stabbed, baby removed from victim’s womb‏

A 26-year-old Longmont, Colorado woman who was seven months pregnant showed up at a home Wednesday to buy baby clothes she’d seen in a Craigslist post.

The 34-year-old woman who lives at the home, in the 1600 block of Green Place in Longmont, stabbed the pregnant woman and “removed” her baby.

The baby did not survive.

The woman who was attacked was taken to Longmont United Hospital, where she underwent surgery and is expected to recover, he said.

Police located the suspect at the hospital after she apparently arrived with the baby and said she had suffered a miscarriage.
