  • As I’m recovering from my illness, I slept in on Sunday and didn’t wake until.  I then ate with the family and went back to sleep waking up around 5:30 PM.  It was everything I hoped it would have been.
  • I got caught up in the NBA Finals and didn’t watch ‘Game of Thrones’ until later in the night which was a major mistake.  The big ending was spoiled for me because I took a look at my RSS feed before rolling tape.  But even with the known ending, it was still darn good.
  • I’ve noticed a few crepe myrtles blooming, but mostly the white ones.
  • GirlGeeding was pretending not to wake up from a nap in the living room, and I put a handful of ice cubes in her underpants to help wake her up.  BrotherGeeding, ever the protector, rushed to her and started to pull the cubes out one by one.
  • I’ve been fortunate to get a merit increase every year from my employer and each year they send me a form letter in the mail stating my new salary and congratulating me.  This year was a bit different because the president and CEO was nice enough to include a hand-written letter along with the form congratulating and thanking me.
  • WifeGeeding dropped a bottle of nail polish in our bathroom that busted and I think our tan colored grout is now forever pinkish-red.
  • I’m probably going to make a mistake commenting on the McKinney Police video without watching the entire thing or even seeing a complete news report on it.  But off hand it looks like the police on the scene didn’t have control of the situation and a bunch of teens weren’t being cooperative by running all over the place and not obeying any commands.  The cop panicked when two male teens ran close to him and then behind his back, which freaked him out, and that’s when he pulled his gun.
  • It was embarrassing how much the jockey for American Pharoah was promoting Monster energy drink.  Right after the race, in his first interview while still on the horse, he talked about the benefits of drinking Monster before the race and hoped it transferred to the horse.  During the trophy presentation, he acted as if he was going to fill one of the trophy bowls up with Monster and drink out of it until someone stopped him.  Hey, I get that Monster is a sponsor and the logo is on his collar, but his behavior, despite his joy, wasn’t representative of the sport of kings.

  • China is about to get one heck of a glass pedestrian bridge – When the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge opens in the fall, it will be the longest glass pedestrian bridge in the world. The engineering plans call for it to be 20 feet wide—large enough to host the fashion shows its developers plan to hold there
  • Say what you will about Kanye and Kim, but I find this photo of them adorable.
  • GIF – Dog impressively runs up a wall
  • The Dallas Obserer has a somewhat interesting interview with TEXAS MONTHLY’s barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn.  When he’s asked for the best BBQ to eat in DFW, his first reply is “When do you want to eat?” since so many places are closed for dinner.
  • Pretty decent driving record – Google Issues First Monthly Report On Traffic Incidents Involving Its Self-Driving Cars – “In the six years of our project, we’ve been involved in 12 minor accidents during more than 1.8 million miles of autonomous and manual driving combined,” Google writes. “Not once was the self-driving car the cause of the accident.”
