It will showcase several barbecue styles from Texas, Kansas City, and the Carolinas.
Diners can also order burnt ends a la carte, though they’re not on the menu. (Call it a secret.)
The Texas Roadhouse Burger is a beef patty (made of brisket, short rib and chuck), topped with smoked cheddar and caramelized onions and served on Texas toast.

I’m always laughingly irritated when that Wise County blogging lawyer beats me to news about my hometown of Mineral Wells, but he did so yesterday and it made WFAA news.
Nine players that will play varsity football when school starts have quit in protest because the coach named his son as starting quarterback. I get why that might be done on the NFL level, but you’d think you could hold back on such a thing before even the first preseason game or two-a-days. Not to mention, there’s no idea who might move to town and prove capable.
I was really good friends with the mother of the kid that got benched. If the kid is anything like his mother, I can easily see why so many were in support of him.
Many students spoke at a school board meeting, which I thought took courage, something I’m not sure I could have done back in the day, though I think my friends would disagree. I was also impressed from the pictures and the parts of the video that’s posted, none of them wore shorts, t-shirts, or jeans, they all dressed respectfully.
The coach looks a bit like a chubby Mike Leach.
The coaches son is named Tristan? I never heard of that name before. Wikipedia lists several “famous” people with the name, and it became popular because one of the Knights of the Round Table in the King Arthur stories carries the name. But I do feel for the kid, I’m sure he’s getting a lot of “daddy’s boy” taunts.
One of the kids may have gone a bit far about their protest somewhat comparing themselves to Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr. and George Washington. But hey, the kid has passion, and I’ll give him that.
CBS11 has a new commercial showcasing their new traffic chick reporter. She doesn’t seem as personable as Tammy Dombeck, but she’s not as artificial looking as Whitney Drolen. She’s also a former Arizona Cardinals cheerleader. For some reason, it appears you have to be a blonde to fill the position.
I saw a funny tweet about ‘Mad Men’ recently but can’t find it. It was referencing the time Sterling Cooper (or whatever they were called at the time) lost Lucky Strikes and Don wrote a letter that was published in the paper about why they were leaving tobacco, health concerns. This tweet referenced that McCann Erickson lost Coke and Don wrote a letter that was published in the paper that they left the soft drink industry due to diabetic concerns.
This was interesting and a bit surprising. Here’s (Google Maps) a house with a large Saguaro cactus in the front yard. Here’s that same house after the cactus fell on it. That’s what you call some damage. Source – Reddit
It’s great to see that The Village Church and Karen Hinkley are now on good terms thanks to the courage of the leaders of the church and Karen. As a great light rock psalmist once sang, it’s”Hard to Say I’m Sorry”. It’s good to know the church will be utilizing the help from a licensed sex offender treatment provider to help her former husband. TVC humbly apologized in every way possible, made things transparent, yet stood firm on where they stood biblically, which I’m comfortable with though I may not totally agree with their reasoning or interpretation. This is a great lesson for other churches to learn on how to react and learn from adversity, and to find the courage and humbleness to apologize and seek to make things right, not just for the individual(s) involved, but policies and procedures as well.

Despite his heart and kidneys failing, this father surprised his daughter at her wedding to walk her down the aisle.
Buzzfeed – Physiological responses to insults by U.S. Northerners versus Southerners – “Southerners’ heightened physiological responses and comparatively aggressive behaviour after being insulted provide some evidence that culture shapes how people think and how they interact in society.” But one thing to point out related to southern “aggression” is that it stems from, “a ‘culture of honour’, which holds that a slighted person must stave off humiliation by punishing his insulter.” This ideal seems more prevalent in the south.
