While waiting in line for tacos yesterday a flyer caught my attention only because I saw the name “Della”. I’ve only known one person with that name, my grandmother. The purpose of the flyer was to help raise funds for the funeral Della Waire, a former employee of the Lewisville Public Library, a place our family visits quite often. For some reason, I just felt the need to chip in, and you can too here.
For the longest time I never knew my father had an ex-wife, it was only something I learned after his death. Her name was “Odella”. My father’s mother’s name was “Della”. I wonder if there was any confusion when they got together.
The Lost Laughs of Letterman – The departing host and his former writers share the greatest jokes he never told.
U2 were playing the subway – Last night, the Irish rockers were spotted playing an impromptu busking session in the Grand Central subway station. Disguised with sunglasses and hats, U2 performed the 1988 Rattle and Hum single “Angel of Harlem” to a sizable crowd. – I think I like Adam with the long gray hippy hair.
I’m still loving my battery-powered lawn mower, and I believe this is my fourth summer of using it. For my yard size, it’s perfect and I’ve never run out of juice. I think what I like best is not having to worry about any gas spilling from the gas can as I take it to fill it up, though I may feel different if I actually owned a pickup. I feared getting gas in the interior and always smelling fumes every time I got inside. It’s a Ryobi 40-volt lithium-ion mower in case you were wondering.
