  • I’m still smiling from watching that graduating class video I posted yesterday.  I can’t believe they got all the class, or so many of them, to participate and work on all that coordination.  If it was my graduating class, few would have agreed to do it or someone would have done something to ruin the whole thing.
  • I stated that DaughterGeeding’s cousin was eleven, but she’s actually nine.  Yesterday was the first time she ever stepped inside a Toys R Us.
  • Our city dump is flooded and all the trash is being trucked to some place three hours away.
  • Bill Scheft, a longtime writer for David Letterman, posted a diary of how the final show came together.  It was interesting to learn that they usually shoot for sixteen jokes for the monolog and how about this, a 21-year-old intern had two of her jokes land in the final Top Ten list.  A seat was also saved for the nurse Dave had during his heart surgery.
  • Just a friendly reminder to anyone with a brokerage account to consider placing a stop-loss order.  If you are anything like me and don’t pay close attention to your holdings, this is a great tool to prevent any big loss.  And if your brokerage firm is anything like mine, there’s no charge until the actual trade and you can set up a reminder to place another when they expire.

  • There’s a Chick-fil-A in Abilene that has mouthwash in the men’s restroom.
  • I didn’t see a fee for this service, which is a bit of a surprise – Delta already is already running Early Valet on a few dozen flights and the general idea is simple. When you arrive at the gate, Delta employees will take your carry-on luggage and place it in an overhead bin above your assigned seat. By doing the work for you, Delta could save time, stress, and apparently money — a Northern Illinois University study found that airlines lose $30 for every minute a flight idles at the gate
