- It’s great to see that The Village Church and Karen Hinkley are now on good terms thanks to the courage of the leaders of the church and Karen. As a great light rock psalmist once sang, it’s”Hard to Say I’m Sorry”. It’s good to know the church will be utilizing the help from a licensed sex offender treatment provider to help her former husband. TVC humbly apologized in every way possible, made things transparent, yet stood firm on where they stood biblically, which I’m comfortable with though I may not totally agree with their reasoning or interpretation. This is a great lesson for other churches to learn on how to react and learn from adversity, and to find the courage and humbleness to apologize and seek to make things right, not just for the individual(s) involved, but policies and procedures as well.

- Buzzfeed – Physiological responses to insults by U.S. Northerners versus Southerners – “Southerners’ heightened physiological responses and comparatively aggressive behaviour after being insulted provide some evidence that culture shapes how people think and how they interact in society.” But one thing to point out related to southern “aggression” is that it stems from, “a ‘culture of honour’, which holds that a slighted person must stave off humiliation by punishing his insulter.” This ideal seems more prevalent in the south.

That’s One Big Shark
One of the largest Great Whites ever filmed. Guadalupe Island Video credit: Mauricio Hoyos Padilla
I don’t know about sizes of Great Whites other than knowing that they are big, and this one appears really gigantic. But I’m more surprised at how the scuba diver touches the beast and doesn’t stay inside his cage. I’ve seen movies on SyFy, I know how these things can turn out.
