  • It’s not that I dislike the taste of mushrooms, but I tend not to eat them because I can’t get past the fact they are a fungus.
  • I’ve been a customer of DirecTV for over a decade, but I’m considering making the move to Verizon Fios.  The only reason I chose DirecTV was for the NFL Ticket, but football doesn’t interest me as much as it used to and the coveted Red Zone channel is now available on Fios.  AT&T recently purchased them, and I avoid AT&T like the plague for a variety of reasons, and with Fios I won’t have to worry about losing a signal during heavy storms.  I need to explore what their DVR features are, like being able to record more than one show at a time and being able to share a recording in other rooms.  If the price is right, I might just do it as my DirecTV equipment is in need of an upgrade.  Oddly, one thing keeping me from switching, is having to memorize a new channel lineup.
  • When I was growing up in Mineral Wells, CBS was on channel four and CNN was on channel eleven.  Every now and then, like last night, I find myself going to those two channels as I remember them from Mineral Wells.  It’s funny how certain things stay ingrained in your mind.
  • Donald Trump said the following during his presidential run announcement, “Because I don’t need anybody’s money. It’s nice. I don’t need anybody’s money. I’m using my own money. I’m not using lobbyists, I’m not using donors. I don’t care. I’m really rich.”  However, if you visit his campaign website the “Donate” link is highlighted in the upper right that provides an option to make a scheduled monthly contribution.  I guess there’s a difference between not needing money and not accepting any money.

  • Anytime I visit a campaign website, I always do so using the Incognito or private browsing mode so I won’t be slammed with online ads visiting other pages.
  • Kinda cute/funny – Buzzfeed – This Model Has Translated What Female Snapchats Really Mean
  • This guy claims he lost his digital watch 20 years ago and recently found it revamping his parent’s garden and it still works, albeit 7-minutes snow, which is probably a Y2K problem #sarcasm.
  • It sounds like Brian Williams will lose the anchor chair, which I expected, but surprisingly, will end up staying at NBC News, actually at MSNBC, doing breaking news, which surprises me.  Until yesterday, I didn’t know that Williams never finished college.  I believe CBS News’ Scott Pelley never finished college as well, but David Muir of ABC News has.  William’s replacement, Lester Holt also never finished college.  It’s quite interesting how many of these lead anchors never earned their degree.  They must not be the kind to hold back on things and jump at opportunities, very risk adverse.
  • MSNBC should have changed named at least ten years ago.
  • I wish the New Testament provided more detail on the followers of Jesus the day after his crucifixion and what Jesus said and did, as well as the reactions of religious and government leaders, the 40 days he spent on Earth before ascending to heaven.

  • I never knew a woman was once on U.S. paper currency until reading this article – The last woman on U.S. paper currency was Martha Washington, who was on the $1 Silver Certificate between 1891 and 1896.
  • For anyone that wanted to be cautious of Texas Rangers rookie Joey Gallo and his potential, I think it’s now okay to say he’s gonna have a bright future.  Just don’t remind me of any hopes I had for Profar.
