• This post will be Star Wars spoiler free, I promise.
• On Friday, I was listening to BaD Radio on The TICKET and my blood started to boil as Bob and Dan started to review the new Star Wars movie they saw on opening night, which was the night before.  They stated they weren’t going to reveal any spoilers, but they most definitely did.  They claim whatever they said could be seen in any of the trailers, but that wasn’t entirely true, and their commentary either confirmed or denied what was teased or implied in the trailers.  I love their radio show and while listening to the segment I gave them a mulligan for letting one slip, and then it was another, and before you know it, I’m regretting not changing the station.  It’s been 30 years since we got to see some of the most beloved and iconic characters reprise their role, and my boys let me down by revealing too much.
• However, as for the movie, I’ll just say that
  1. I was entertained.
  2. It felt surreal, a bit dreamlike, I couldn’t believe this was happening, like it was too good to be true.
  3. It left me frustrated.
• I’ll provide a review and my own personal thoughts after the first of the year after everyone has had a chance to see it.
• I actually watched the movie all by my lonesome on Saturday night while the rest of the family stayed in East Texas, and I can’t speak highly enough of a theater that allows you to reserve your seat so you don’t have to get to the theater early and wait in line.  The pictures above was taken at the Alamo Drafthouse.  We were eating next door at Haystack and I went over to get a gift certificate where I noticed the characters and decided to go back and get the kids.  I really wish I could have recorded this moment, but sometimes things are more cherished when left to just memory.  You can’t see through the doors of the cinema, but I was talking things up to surprise the LittleGeedings when I opened the door.  Darth Vader must have seen me hyping the kids up, and decided to stand in front of the door with a menacing pose with his light saber drawn.  As soon as I opened it, they both screamed, stated they are scared, and ran to my arms.

• While driving to East Texas, I noticed a huge billboard of Pastor Ed Young of Fellowship Church and the ability to stream their services on Netflix.  But what really got my attention was the placement of the billboard, it was just outside the parking lot and entrance of Highland Oaks Church of Christ.  I wish I snapped a picture of it, but it was just kinda funny looking, though I’m sure it wasn’t intentional.
• Last night WifeGeeding and I caught the very end of the Miss Universe pageant and we had no idea we were about to witness the greatest live television goof of the year.  Host Steve Harvey announced the winner as Miss Columbia.  WifeGeeding then commented that since the reigning Miss Universe is from Columbia, that must be a cool moment for those two and their country, and then . . . Steve Harvey announces he made a mistake and takes full responsibility, but the actual winner is the runner-up, Miss Philippians.  And that’s when you see the awkwardness of a newly crowned winner have her crown removed, which was only on her head for something like a minute, and then placed on another woman.  Later in the night, Harvey tweeted an apology but then deleted it since he misspelled “Philippines”.  But in today’s world, and with this being on FOX, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was all staged.

Santa Barbara-based troupe State Street Ballet was on tour performing the Nutcracker when they experienced a five-hour layover at Denver International Airport on December 7. Being in a performing mood, they decided to kill that time by putting on an impromptu display on the airport’s walking escalators. The resulting performance has gained over 2 million views on Facebook.
