  • Since yesterday was a holiday, I spent it installing tile in our laundry room with the help of DaughterGeeding, and we had a blast. That got me to thinking about the argument about what to spend money on, experiences or possessions. I’ve always said possessions because the type of things that I buy are things that enable experiences. As both kids grow older, I can see us sharing lots of experiences with the tools and materials (possessions) I’ve bought. Sure, going to Disney World was fantastic, but I expect to spend many more experiences with the kids building and fixing stuff instead of hiring someone else to do it.
  • I ran out of mortar with just five tiles to go, so I had to make a run to the home improvement store. The tiles are half staggered but after I finished laying them all down, I noticed the box state they should be third staggered. With the laundry room floor being so small, I don’t think it will matter much.
  • I saw a picture of Bush43 campaigning for his brother yesterday and was surprised at how much his hair has receded in the front.
  • I watched zero minutes of the Grammy’s, but sixty on ‘The X-Files’ and sixty on ‘Better Call Saul’, which started off season two pretty solidly.
  • Buzzfeed – These Teen Girls Have Taken A Selfie With Nearly Every Presidential Candidate – They only missed Jim Webb.
  • The Head With No Body—And No Answers – Jane Doe was embalmed, decapitated, and given red rubber balls for eyes. Was the woman found in rural Pennsylvania murdered, missing, or something else entirely?
