  • “Can I press the ding-dong?” – That’s what BoyGeeding asks every time he wants to ring the doorbell.
  • For the first time in my life, I donated blood yesterday. It’s something my doctor is asking me to do twice a year because my blood is too thick.
  • The blood work from my physical arrived yesterday and it was a bit discouraging. I’ve changed my lifestyle over the past year and a half by exercising a lot more and eating better, despite what all my BBQ posts may lead you to believe. My weight is down, dropped body fat and added muscle (I’m now seeing veins pop in my forearms and biceps), cut down sugar and saturated fats, and added a lot of fiber to my daily intake (I’m averaging 30 grams a day) through vegetables, grains, and psyllium husk. Some of my numbers are just right confusing. I know it’s a marathon and not a sprint, but sometimes you just want to nail it end when it comes to your health.
  • Interestingly enough, my Vitamin D levels are too high.
  • WifeGeeding is making me get rid of the shorts that no longer fit me. When I put them on, they barely cling to my hips, and when I wiggle, they fall.
  • There’s a higher-up at work that pronounces Linus as “Line-ucks” instead of “Lin-ucks” and it drives me batty. He’s the only person I know that does this.  For the record, Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, states it should be pronounced as “Lin-ucks”.
  • Related – GIF – The debate over how to pronounce GIF, which stands for Graphics Interchange Format, re-emerged this week when Steve Wilhite, the inventor of the widely used Web illustration, declared it should be pronounced “jif,” like the brand of peanut butter, rather than with a hard G sound.

  • Tom Brokaw will have a special this Sunday and will be interviewing David Letterman, his first since retirement. Those two seem to be somewhat close. – Letterman explains to Brokaw why he decided to grow a beard, what he thinks of late night now, and returns with Brokaw to his old Indianapolis stomping grounds.

  • EW – Game of Thrones: HBO confirms super-sized season 6 finale – The finale is a whopping 69 minutes long – which makes it the longest Thrones episode ever.  – Man, this season has flown by.

    It’s the dirty truth: just because you’re passionate about something, doesn’t mean you won’t be absolutely terrible at it.
  • I’m not sure what to think of the season finale of ‘The Americans’. Actually, I was surprised last night was the season finale, I thought there were two episodes left.
