  • One of DaughterGeeding’s friends had a birthday party yesterday. It was scheduled for 3:00 PM. Kickoff for the Cowboys first game of the season was scheduled for 3:25 PM. There weren’t many dads that attended the party.
  • I like to eat peanuts, I just prefer for them to be inside an M&M.
  • I prefer to watch all sporting events live and not recorded on the DVR. But if Fox is going to ruin my day by promoting Skip Bayless, I may start using the DVR to skip through all the commercials. Even one commercial of him is one too many.
  • Is it odd or uncommon to eat tamales sans chili or sauce, because that’s how I prefer them.
  • Three Joe Bucks of interest:
    • A picture of his game notes for Cowboys/Giants for each player and position
    • Troy Aikman driving him to the game
    • Buck referenced the glaring sun being a factor for the Cowboys dropping passes. I have a feeling Jerry is finally going to put a curtain up on that thing. For those of you unaware, unlike most stadiums, AT&T does not have a north/south orientation. It’s rumored that it was done so there wouldn’t be a glare on the big screen above the field.

  • Terrance Williams made two dumb plays for a third-year veteran yesterday. One was catching the ball beyond the first down mark on a third down, and then running in the opposite direction enough to turn a first down to a fourth down.

  • As for the second boneheaded play….Jason Garrett normally says what he can to support his players or keeping things positive, but even he was publically disappointed in Williams, “Really, what he needs to do there was simply run out of bounds, and it’s a well-practiced situation.
  • Our kids like to try to spot our neighbor who plays for our local NFL franchise on the television during games. During the game, WifeGeeding asked, “What’s his number again, 88?” I told her “No, it’s 68, they haven’t moved him receiver and take Dez’s spot. Yet.”
  • Demi Lovato was at the game yesterday wearing a Dak Prescott jersey.
  • George W. Bush looks rested and healthy, but every time I see him I’m surprised at the amount of hair he’s losing up top.
  • There wasn’t one college game I was interested in watching this past weekend.
  • GIF – I love this Eagles lineman caught the running back in the endzone.
  • Because of the rain, BoyGeeding’s first soccer game was canceled.
  • Donald Trump to Discuss ‘Personal Health Regimen’ on Dr. Oz Show
    • A teaser for the interview says that Trump “addresses why the health of the candidates has become such a serious issue in this campaign” and “reveals his own personal health regimen.” The interview is scheduled to air next Thursday.
    • The timing of this couldn’t have been better for him with Hillary’s fainting/over-heating spell yesterday.
  • GIF – A man sneaks up and scares a tiger, tiger looks amused.
  • Ever since this GIF of Peyton Manning licking the wrong finger, I’ve noticed the commercial has been edited.
  • I thought fantasy football would have been a fad by now – ESPN’s fantasy football app crashes on 1st Sunday of NFL season
  • I didn’t know the Fort Worth had an airport called Greater Southwest International Airport, which was originally called Amon Carter Field. Someone recently posted some pics on Imgur, it looked like the places was a bit swanky. Those murals look like a great piece of art, I hope they were saved, but most like, they were trashed.

  • Retired Gen. James Mattis says civilians know little about the military – Most Americans greatly admire the military — but they actually know almost nothing about it.
    • This is so sadly true. Most civilians wouldn’t know the difference between the role of a lance corporal and lieutenant colonel or between a platoon or brigade.
  • A conversation with Shel Kaphan, Amazon’s first employee.
  • The Mysterious History of the Male Crop Top in College FootballWere it not for college football, the male midriff would be virtually absent from the culture
  • An ode to Tom Hanks’ upper lip
  • BBC – The pilot who stole a secret Soviet jet – When pilot Viktor Belenko defected 40 years ago, he did so in a mysterious Soviet plane – the MiG-25. BBC Future investigates the far-reaching effects of one of the Cold War’s most intriguing events.
  • WifeGeeding and I watched episode nine of the first season of ‘Game of Thrones’ last night. She went to bed very sad. If only she knows of what’s to come.
  • She was one cute kid – ‘Where Am I Now?’ Mara Wilson Explains What Happened When Matilda Grew Up
