- One of DaughterGeeding’s friends had a birthday party yesterday. It was scheduled for 3:00 PM. Kickoff for the Cowboys first game of the season was scheduled for 3:25 PM. There weren’t many dads that attended the party.
- I like to eat peanuts, I just prefer for them to be inside an M&M.
- I prefer to watch all sporting events live and not recorded on the DVR. But if Fox is going to ruin my day by promoting Skip Bayless, I may start using the DVR to skip through all the commercials. Even one commercial of him is one too many.
- Is it odd or uncommon to eat tamales sans chili or sauce, because that’s how I prefer them.
- Three Joe Bucks of interest:
- A picture of his game notes for Cowboys/Giants for each player and position
- Troy Aikman driving him to the game
- Buck referenced the glaring sun being a factor for the Cowboys dropping passes. I have a feeling Jerry is finally going to put a curtain up on that thing. For those of you unaware, unlike most stadiums, AT&T does not have a north/south orientation. It’s rumored that it was done so there wouldn’t be a glare on the big screen above the field.
- Terrance Williams made two dumb plays for a third-year veteran yesterday. One was catching the ball beyond the first down mark on a third down, and then running in the opposite direction enough to turn a first down to a fourth down.
- As for the second boneheaded play….Jason Garrett normally says what he can to support his players or keeping things positive, but even he was publically disappointed in Williams, “Really, what he needs to do there was simply run out of bounds, and it’s a well-practiced situation.“
- Our kids like to try to spot our neighbor who plays for our local NFL franchise on the television during games. During the game, WifeGeeding asked, “What’s his number again, 88?” I told her “No, it’s 68, they haven’t moved him receiver and take Dez’s spot. Yet.”
- Demi Lovato was at the game yesterday wearing a Dak Prescott jersey.
- George W. Bush looks rested and healthy, but every time I see him I’m surprised at the amount of hair he’s losing up top.
- There wasn’t one college game I was interested in watching this past weekend.

- Because of the rain, BoyGeeding’s first soccer game was canceled.

- A teaser for the interview says that Trump “addresses why the health of the candidates has become such a serious issue in this campaign” and “reveals his own personal health regimen.” The interview is scheduled to air next Thursday.
- The timing of this couldn’t have been better for him with Hillary’s fainting/over-heating spell yesterday.

Someone recently posted some pics on Imgur, it looked like the places was a bit swanky. Those murals look like a great piece of art, I hope they were saved, but most like, they were trashed.

- There are some companies I’ve pledged to never do business again, and then they’ll buy the competitor I’m doing business, so I’ll switch to another competitor, and then they’ll eventually buy that business and then I’m stuck eating humble pie.
- Yesterday in Alpine, TX, a 14-year-old female freshman student shot and injured another female student before turning the gun on herself. There was a time in which that would lead the local news and make the national news. But yesterday, I didn’t see it land in one of the top local stories or even mentioned on the national news. The world has changed.
- I just discovered the cossack squat and thought I’d try to add it to my workout. In researching the move, I came across this GIF of a very fit woman totally killing the move with two heavy kettlebells. Color me impressed.
- GIF – College in a nutshell – I’m thinking with camera phones, this doesn’t happen as much as it used to.
- The instructor has his board erasing technique down, always erasing up and down, not side to side. If you do it side to side, your booty will shake and wave back and forth. At least that was a tip a friend who teaches high school told me.

- He was pretty adamant he did no wrong, but last week he signed with super agent Jimmy Sexton. I’m thinking he’s so desperate to work again, he was “forced” by Sexton to apologize to repair his image.
- It boggles my mind how no other coaches have been let go, which implies that only Briles was at fault on football related matters. My mind is more boggled that Briles’s son and son-in-law are still coaching the Baylor football team as assistants, especially the son-in-law after his wife (Briles’ daughter) went off on an epic rant against Baylor.
- I’m surprised that Baylor was able to open the season without a single sanction or penalty from either the Big XII or the NCAA. Granted, my knowledge when it comes to what they and the legal system can do within any time frame is very limited, but it seems like something would have been done before the start of the season.
- I was attending a Baptist church when the Dave Bliss Baylor University scandal hit. The topic reared its head during Sunday school, and one grandmother, an alum, said he was just one bad apple. I responded by saying I fear the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and she gave me a death stare. I’m not sure if she’s still alive, but 15-years later, I’m sadly right. I used to wear Baylor gear, but they were thrown out around that time, my loyalties have moral limitations.
- The Atlantic – Sex Ed Without the Sex – In West Texas, a Christian pregnancy center has grown increasingly involved in reproductive life—including teaching sex ed in public schools.
- West Texas in this case, is Midland.
- One paragraph mentions Joshua Harris’ book I Kissed Dating Goodbye. Man, that book was super popular during my last two years in college. I admit, I was a fan and succumbed to his suggestion of not going on “single dates” (one boy, one girl) but “group dates” (several boys and girls, no alone time). However, my last “group date” crashed and burned, and during that date, I met a girl and asked if she would like to go out with me the next night, just me and her. We were engaged seven months later. And now I refer to that girl as “WifeGeeding” on this here blog.
