A dream for many, a nightmare for one

choc.jpgDarmin Garcia, an employee of a company that supplies chocolate ingredients, said he was pushing the chocolate down into the vat at Debelis Corp. because it was stuck. But it became loose and he slid into the hopper.

The chocolate was 110 degrees, hotter than a hot tub, said Capt. Greg Sinnen of the Kenosha Fire Department.

Co-workers, police and firefighters tried to free the man but couldn’t get him loose until the chocolate was thinned out with cocoa butter.

It’s definately different.

And here’s a new concept.  The field sits outside and is moved inside for game day.

It’s also build so a light of daylight can enter it when the retractable roof is closed, but it will also look cool at night.

48 marathons in 47 days

thompson.karnazes3.jpegDoctors told the cross-country runner his left leg might heal shorter than his right and he would never run again. They placed a titanium rod in his left leg, stretching from his left knee to his ankle, to help him walk.

Eight years later, he is running. 26.2 miles. Every day.

Thompson, a volunteer coordinator for a church in Katrina-ravaged Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, is on a quest to raise awareness for the people he knows along the Gulf Coast who have largely been forgotten a year after Hurricane Katrina slammed the region.

And he’s doing the thing he does best, running — his mission is to complete 50 marathons in 50 days in all 50 states. He says he’s nearly done, having now logged 48 marathon-distance runs in 47 consecutive days.
