  • President Trump’s first interview since taking the oath will be with ABC News’ David Muir tonight. Muir is a nice guy, but a bit wet behind the ears, a bit soft, and not very critical.
  • I’m surprised this story hasn’t gotten much traction, especially since Fox Business correspondent Charlie Gasparino wrote about it. Looks like she threw three closed fist punches to the guy’s face – Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway allegedly punched a man in the face at President Trump’s inaugural ball
    • “Inside the ball we see a fight between two guys in tuxes and then suddenly out of nowhere came Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway who began throwing some mean punches at one of the guys,” Gasparino wrote. “Whole thing lasted a few mins no one was hurt except maybe the dude she smacked.” Gasparino emphasized in the post that he did not “exaggerate” any part of his account, adding, “Now I know why trump hired her.”
  • One reason the NCAA gets on my nerves, weird financial incentives for coaches.
    • @darrenrovell – West Virginia coach Bob Huggins gets $25K each time his team beats Kansas. A win tonight, per @ESPNAndyKatz, brings his total to $100K.
  • Dallas Morning News editorial from yesterday – 243 days have passed and Baylor still won’t reveal the facts in sexual assault tragedy
  • There may be a trend of U.S. businesses closing manufacturing jobs overseas and bring them back home, but because or robots and the big upward trend in automation, the number of jobs won’t be as high as many hope.
  • WifeGeeding has hurt my feelings and I’m passively aggressively getting even. I changed out Amazon Echo’s wake up word and it brought joy to be yesterday observing her getting frustrated with why it wasn’t working for her.
  • In other Amazon news which may cause me to spend money – Amazon will now send your kids tech and science toys for $20 a month
  • Adam Clayton is often credited as the sparest member of U2, but I actually think the man is overlooked for his contributions, he’s a very behind the scenes guy and provides more creative input than one may think. That comes across in this “Rolling Stone” interview – U2’s Adam Clayton Talks ‘Joshua Tree’ Tour, ‘Songs of Experience’. The Edge was recently asked by the publication about where “Streets” would fit in in the upcoming tour and if the songs from “The Joshua Tree” would play in sequence, and that got my mind racing, here are Clayton’s thoughts:
  • Deadspin wants pictures of Sen. Ted Cruz playing basketball
    • Cruz appears intent on building—and in some cases repairing—personal relationships with Republican senators. He started a weekly basketball game in the Russell Building, for example, and has been urging colleagues to attend. (Cruz is said to be a surprisingly good jump-shooter with miserable form.) Tim Scott has played, and Marco Rubio is said to be joining soon.
  • Best and Worst Value Law Schools – Online lender SoFi looked at data from 60,000 student loan refinancing applications it received over a three-year period and sorted law schools by their average tuition cost compared to their graduates’ average verified income.
    • BYU, Texas, Yale, and Houston are tops on the list. Texas A&M is one of the schools tied as one of the worst valued.
  • My Unhappy 48 Hours As An Astronaut – Volunteers are trying to live like astronauts on Earth in preparation for manned missions to Mars, but face isolation, confinement and terrible food.
  • Five finalists will try to land a spacecraft on the Moon this year to win the Google Lunar X Prize
