BISMARCK, North Dakota (AP) — In North Dakota, a man and woman who live together without being married are committing a sex crime. It’s right there in the law, a state senator says, alongside the prohibitions against adultery, incest and indecent exposure.
Tracy Potter, a freshman Democrat from Bismarck, is asking the state Legislature to end North Dakota’s status as one of seven states that have anti-cohabitation laws on the books. It has rejected three such attempts since 1990.
The state has prohibited opposite-sex couples from living “openly and notoriously” as if they were married since North Dakota became a state in 1889. Florida, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia have similar laws.
Since everyone keeps telling me how great the TV show 24 is, I had to find out for myself and rented the first season on DVD on Saturday hoping to finish viewing all episodes in about two days. However, IneptGeeding didn’t realize that there were 24 friggin’ episodes to watch – that’s a lot of TV.  WifeGeeding and I finished watching the complete first season last night.
I would like to mention that I totally agree with my fellow liberal blogger Barry that waiting for TV shows to come out on DVD are the way to go. There’s no waiting week to week, or in the case of Lost month to month, and no commercials.
Speaking of commercials, WifeGeeding came up with a fun game everytime the clock appeared from commercial break – trying to guess what minute the clock would land on when it came back from commercial break. It’s harder than you think and quite fun if you are watching with other people.

The first few episodes were slow, I guess there was no real way of avoiding that since you have to create character backgrounds and a good plot, but after that it was real entertaining. You have to throw out the ‘realistic possibility’ factor from time to time, but it’s fun and unpredictable entertainment.Â
Overall I think I have to give it a strong 8 out of 10, with the ending a strong 100 out of 10 – pure greatness. However, I have never seen WifeGeeding so angry about a story ending as I have with this first season of 24. I will say I’m thankful WifeGeeding is nothing like Senator Palmer’s wife, sheesh!
I guess it’s on to season two.
