• BoyGeeding had a pretty good first day of kindergarten. DaughterGeeding said that she did, but right before bedtime broke down and told us how much she misses her old school.
• Speaking of breaking down, WifeGeeding didn’t have any tears until she sat in the car after leaving BoyGeeding’s classroom.
  
• She also had a moment of frustration yesterday and claimed she must have early-onset-Tourettes.
• Remember back in April 2011 when then Gov. Rick Perry issued a proclamation calling on Texans to pray for rain for three days?
• Joel Osteen is getting a lot of criticism for closing his megachurch in Houston and not helping any flood victims. At least it appears he didn’t do anything before getting criticism, and the building of his church wasn’t damaged.
  
• Compare that to Rev. Adam Hamilton’s email to the congregants of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. It goes above “thoughts and prayers.
  • Over the weekend, we prayed for the communities along the Gulf Coast affected by Hurricane Harvey. Today we begin looking at ways we can do more than pray.

• A good friend of mine in Canada let me know that Art Briles was hired by a Canadian Football League team and then later informed me that RGIII was expected to follow the coach. And then late last night he told me there was major fan backlash which resulted in Briles not going up north after all.
