WifeGeeding was eating dinner with some friends last night when one of them shared a story about her sister who teaches at St Something-or-Another in Plano, Texas.

It turns out that each classroom has a webcam that parents can log into and watch what’s happening in real time.  Mothers take shifts watching the webcam and keep stats as to how attentive the teacher is to each child.  The teacher will end up getting such feedback from the mothers that she passed a child three times without acknowledging him or her.  Sheeeeze.

As some of you know, I teach a couple of finance courses at a local university.  Every person except one girl in tonight’s class was black; however, we discovered that she is down with the swirl, that is, her husband is black. 

I then commented that everyone in class is either black or married to a black person except for me, which promted this response, “Professor Geeding, you’re honorary black.”

A security guard at Walter Reed Army Medical Center opened fire at another guard Wednesday outside a busy entrance to the hospital, police said. No one was injured.The guards had been arguing at about 8:30 a.m. when one of them fired as many as 10 shots, Lt. Jimmie Riley said.

The other guard, who was not hit, ran to a nearby house to call police, Riley said. The guard who fired the shots was taken into custody.
