25 Reasons Why I Am No Longer A Christian

No, not me – but a person named Craig Lee Duckett.

Prior to earning degrees in Humanities (e.g., Philosophy, Literature, History), I attended Northwest University to prepare for a career as a pastoral minister. I studied biblical exegesis, hermeneutics, New Testament (Koine) Greek, a little Hebrew, ancient near east history, and doctrinal interpretation. During this time I was ‘on fire for the Lord’. I witnessed to anyone who would listen and brought several friends to Christ. Always a voracious reader—sometimes reading three or four books a week—I immersed myself in the study of religion and took full advantage of the extensive (and expensive) scholarly volumes in the school library.

Ironically, it was during my years at the Bible college that I was inadvertantly introduced to information that would eventually lead me to question my faith.

And it’s not even the groom’s cake

When GameDaily contributor and self-proclaimed “games junkie” Carol Orsini decided to tie the knot with her non-gamer hubby-to-be, she made sure things were done the right way, especially when it came to the wedding cake. Hence this masterpiece of… not one, not two, not three, but FOUR game consoles! Here’s what she had to say about this amazing feat of game cakery:

As you can see, the bottom layer is my fabulous Xbox 360. On top of that is my PS2 and the next layer is my Xbox. If you look closely enough, you can see the DVD remote sensor in a controller port. Such attention to detail! Topping the entire masterpiece (as it should) is the limited edition ‘Legend of Zelda’ gold GameCube.

While working on the fence yesterday

I had my first ever encounter with a black widow spider.  I’ve always heard they were ver abundant in Texas, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen one.

Thankfully I had some thick leather gloves on.  What happened to her?  After smasking her with a shovel, I poured concrete on her – Jersey Style!

Speaking of my fence, all the rain is really making it hard to finish this project.  Let’s just say I don’t feel real safe walking around nine foot metal poles sticking straight up from the ground when it’s raining.
