At the gym today . . .

I saw someone with a cassette walkman.

I can’t tell you the last time I actually saw one of these, 5-7 years ago?  In case you are wondering, I think it was a lady in her 50’s or 60’s.

Update: BagOfNothing.com Christmas Card Experiment 2.1 – Your chance to help fight lupus

My fifth and sixth Christmas cards came in the mail today.

The first card is from Heather of Mississauga, Ontario – that’s right . . . my first out of country Christmas card!  Heather found some U.S. currency around her house and decided that since she didn’t have any plans for “foreign travel” any time soon, that she would donate those funds to help fight lupus.  Wowzers!  Thanks, Jennifer.  And in case you are wondering, even though Mississauga is similar to Mississippi, it’s nowhere near that river – it intrigue me so much I had to look it up myself.  It is however near a Great Lake.

My second card is from Barron Barry of Decatur, TX.  I have to admit his card is the funniest one I’ve received this year, and he was even nice enough to include a donation to help fight lupus.  Even though I have never seen or spoken to Barry, he’s someone that I’ve always felt like I’ve known for a long time and I consider him a true friend.

With a total of six cards, that’s $6 I’ll donate to help fight lupus.

Heather and Barry, thanks for the cards, donation, and being loyal BON readers!

So that’s two cards from Texas, and one from North Carolina, New York, Indiana, and Canada.  I don’t feel like I’ll beat last year’s mark of 24 Christmas cards, but here’s hoping.

A small recap of the experiment of me trying to see if any of you are willing to send me a Christmas card:

Option 1:  You can make a direct donation to the Lupus Research Institute in memory of Kim Geeding.  Have the acknowledgement sent to my address, and I’ll consider that my Christmas card.  I’ve done some research, and out of all the lupus organizations I feel most comfortable with the Lupus Research Institute came out on top.

Option 2:  If you just want to send a card and no money, then I will total up all the cards received before Dec 25, and for each card donate a dollar (up to $50) to the Lupus Research Institute.  If you include any money, I’ll make sure to donate the funds directly to the Lupus Research Institute.

Send all cards to

Keith “BagOfNothing” Geeding
421 Vista Noche Dr
Lewisville, TX 75067-8345

Please be sure to include the “BagOfNothing” in the name so I know the card comes from a reader and not the dentist or plumber.
